Passengera Providing Premium Infotainment Solution for Glacier Express trains
Glacier Express is a distinctive first-class Swiss panorama train that provides a premium service for the passengers. Contemporary coaches, exquisite dining service, unique excursions and a wide range of trips offered make Glacier Express a strong and well known player on the international travel market.
The Rhaetian Railway and Matterhorn Railway are leading providers of leisure, commuter and freight transport services. With their unique mountain routes, UNESCO World Heritage status, Glacier Express, Bernina Express and Gornergrat Bahn lines, it has been providing fascinating rail travel experiences throughout the Swiss alps for more than 125 years.
Passengera developed a solution based on the award-winning Passengera modular infotainment platform. Tailored to the Glacier Express’ demand for a premium service, it provides passengers with audio-guides and video content in addition to a classical location-based highlights. A souvenir page familiarises the passengers with the merchandise available and menu section for the onboard restaurant shows the dishes available.
In collaboration with Annax, Passengera delivered a Passenger Information System on screens that displays dynamic real time and rich multimedia information content to the passengers.

The new solution raises the quality of the onboard experience and strives to raise the passengers satisfaction by providing onboard infotainment and internet access even in the challenging conditions of Swiss mountains. The deployment of the solution allows customers to learn more about their passengers and improve the quality of the provided services based on the received data. It also gives an opportunity to collect feedback from the passengers and operatively adjust the product to their needs.
